That may or may not have been his intention, but given the presence of such Uhuru-era players as Sly Dunbar and Daryl Thompson and the prominence of female backing vocals on a few tracks (beautifully rendered by Rochelle Bradshaw), the comparisons are hard to ignore. Similarly, the riddims are reminiscent of a time when reggae was hardening up a bit inna "rockers" stylee while keeping that necessary pulse. Warrior isn't nostalgia, though. It's Rose continuing to grow and develop even as he retains many of the strengths that make him one of reggae's most distinctive artists. He's toned down his vocal eccentricities noticeably without losing the combination of ominous and playful tones that's served him so well for so long. A short comparison of two different builds of instrument for those who have not seen them together close-up. The remains of my Alexander 103 built in 1954 and an Erste Wiener Genossenschaft Vienna Horn built around 1890. (Miami was incorporated 1896). Please read this iwk.mdw.ac.at - this explains about the instrument length comparisons as well as a clear diagram of the valve sections. Please also download the article by Prof. Thomas Jöbstl about the influence of players on the sound of the Vienna Horn which is also on that page. I will not be so bold as to suggest that one instrument is "better" than the other. All I do know, after studying for a long time under some of the best teachers (and making these videos), is that the horn is still a very misunderstood entity. (My CV is at www.agmdigital.com). I have kept this short. DO NOT THUMP YOUR INSTRUMENT like I do. It's interesting to hear how dead a Vienna Horn is and how important it is to realise that horns could be called resonators. Horn plus acoustic equals tone. The horn itself doesn't "sound" it amplifies and resonates an air column that in turn resonates the concert hall acoustic.

This year marks the 10th anniversary for The Polyphonic Spree's annual holiday music show — an extravaganza the group has held in Dallas each December — and it's celebrating with a live tour and a new CD called Holidaydream, on which the band reworks versions of classics such as "Do You Hear What I Hear" and "White Christmas." Last week, The Polyphonic Spree's members rolled up to NPR in their packed-to-the-gills bus and unloaded a small army of horn players, singers and assorted gear for the largest Tiny Desk performance we've ever hosted. The band members spent much of the day getting ready for the three-song set, puzzling out the logistics of getting that many people behind Bob Boilen's desk. But, they said, it's a "human Tetris game" they've played many times before, and by the early afternoon they were ready to go. While many of the large groups we host at the Tiny Desk often opt for stripped-down performances, what you see here with The Polyphonic Spree is pretty close to the band's full-on production, with a horn section, cellist, guitars and drums — and, of course, the full group of singers, led by the wonderfully effusive Tim DeLaughter. Ok, back a good while ago, I made a video demonstrating how to play a record with no electricity www.youtube.com . Quite a few of you challenged and questioned me about playing a record without electricity where technically electricity was used to spin the turntable. Well fair enough, it does use some electricity to some extent so I have remade the video which only runs on hand power. You can use this to listen to music during a power cut or in a remote forest. Shame that you cannot play a CD or mp3 without electicity. So much for modern technology lol.

I thought it was time I tried to do a lesson. Although I'm not a guitar teacher, I feel it is my duty to pass on some of the things I have learned. Please have patience with my teaching style. I'll do my best to get the basic idea across. I spent a lot of years learning different styles of playing. The least I can do is try to give some of you guitar players a head start. I have been a Duane Allman follower since I first saw the Allman Brothers on August 17th, 1971. I was on vacation in Boston the summer I turned 16. My friends took me to the Boston Common for the concert of a lifetime. I was so inspired by seeing the ABB and Duane, I traded my acoustic for an electric as soon as I got home. Duane was in a class all his own. He played with so much heart and soul. Just yesterday I got a CD from the Boston Common show in the mail. It is the fifth release of some of the early shows with Duane. I really brought back a lot of great memories. It also inspired me to do this vid. This lesson is pretty general. It covers some of the basics of Duane's slide technique. I learned what I know of this style by ear over the years. Look for more lessons that go into more detail on specific songs.

But, lo and behold, I showed up on the first day of Intermediate Piano and the teacher said a few magic words that probably changed the course of my life -- "Intermediate Piano is full, would anyone like to volunteer for Beginner Guitar?" My hand shot up like a bolt. The guitars provided in Beginner Guitar had nylon-strings, so they were much easier to play than my Palmer. No, I did not download this game. I have the original CD and bought it off Amazon. Anyone asking where to download this game is getting their comment removed for having poor judgement. My main account: www.youtube.com A single-part walkthrough for Freddi Fish 3. I think all paths have already been shown on YouTube before, but I decided to get different ones anyway. Also, just like with Freddi Fish 2, I showed all theater movies, and even showed all three variations for the two that have this mechanic. This is my favorite Freddi Fish game. This one was much harder than the predecessors, as I remember spending hours upon hours trying to figure out this game. I also thought the idea of having the thief change each time to give more variety to the ending, a trait carried onto the successor. I also liked the crook-creating and Terrific Tumble Tubes minigames, though I wasn't too fond of the Floating Fun minigame. The variety between each path was also nice, it had a decent musical score, and a good environment.
